This week the weather in Texas is supposed to be beautiful. I will take 70s degrees any day, over the crazy weather that some of the other southern states have been having. To celebrate the awesome weather, wouldn’t it be great to do a HIIT routine you can do outside? As a reminder, be sure to check out the benefits of HIIT here.
I don’t know about you, but I love doing hill sprints. I have since I ran high school track. This hill workout can not only be done on hills, but also on bleachers and the treadmill.
Before beginning you workout, stretch for 5 minutes and jog for another 5 minutes to warm up the muscles and get the heart going.
The instructions are easy- sprint up the hill/bleachers and jog down the hill. Repeat for 10 to 30 minutes. Click here for the benefits of a hill workout.
If you are using the treadmill, sprint 3.5-4.5 mph on an incline of 8 to 10 (or whatever is the most comfortable, yet challenging for you) for 30 secs and jog on an incline of 0 for 1 minute. Continue that interval for 10 to 30 minutes. Try not to hold onto the handrails and don’t lean back while in an incline as this would be like running on a level ground. Lean into the incline to get the most out of the workout.

Your entire lower body will thank you for this workout!
